Packet pickup is for non GOTR participants; coaches will have their race bibs.

WHEN WILL REGISTRATION OPEN?

Most likely in early February. We will send an email to current parents and previous runners, as well as post on social media.

CAN ONLY GIRLS ON THE RUN GIRLS RUN THIS RACE?

The Girls on the Run 5K is a family friendly race that is open to the public. Come run with us and celebrate the accomplishments of the Girls on the Run participants!

What is the course?

SHOULD I REGISTER MY GIRLS ON THE RUN GIRL FOR THE 5K?

No. All Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole program participants are automatically registered for the 5k as part of their program registration.

IS THE 5K REFUNDABLE?

Girls on the Run 5K race entries are non-refundable. Race Management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions. Registration fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to “Acts of God.”

WHAT IS YOUR WEATHER POLICY?

Be prepared to run in any weather. We will run in RAIN or SHINE. Only in the cases of extreme weather will changes to the race schedule occur. Please check our Facebook or Twitter page on race morning for real-time updates on the status of the race if there is lightning or other severe weather. If you opted into the emergency alert system when you registered, you will receive emergency alerts via text message on your cell phone.

IS THE 5K TIMED OR CHIPPED?

The 5k is a family friendly, non-competitive race with all #1 bibs. The 5k is an un-chipped event, but there will be a clock at the finish line for those participants interested in their finish time. Runners of all abilities are welcome. Walkers and strollers are welcome.

Are there aid stations available?

We will have two water stations along the course. Runners are also encouraged to bring water bottles with them. Additional water and post-race snacks will be available at the finish line. EMTs and an ambulance will be at the start line and EMTs on bicycles will be riding the course.

Where should I park?

Visitor Lot A3, Parking Deck W10, W02, street parking where available

Can I bring my dog or pet?

For safety, furry friends are NOT ALLOWED on the course or at the expo, so please leave all pets at home on 5k day! All pets will be asked to return to the pet owner's vehicle if spotted at the event.

At the heart of Girls on the Run are amazing volunteers whose commitment and passion impact the lives of thousands of girls each year. We are in need of people just like you to help make our 5k a success!

OPPORTUNITIES
SET UP

Assist with setting up the race-day expo, start/finish line and registration.

PACKET PICKUP, REGISTRATION & T-SHIRT DISTRIBUTION

Register 5k participants, distribute 5k bibs and shirts.

CHEER TEAM STATIONS – (Minimum 8 volunteers per cheer zone)

Cheer on 5k participants at various locations along the course or at the start/finish line. This is a perfect opportunity for a group! Volunteers for this role are welcome to dress in themed attire promoting their specific group. Bring signs, decorations and noisemakers to keep our participants energized as they complete the 5k!

GREETERS & DIRECTIONAL HELPERS

Set up signage, greet participants and assist with directions and getting runners to the race expo.

MERCHANDISE SALES

Process transactions and help customers find the latest GOTR gear and sizes at the Merchandise Tent.

WATER STOP(S)

Set up and distribute water to participants at designated spot(s) on the 5k course.

POST-RACE REFRESHMENTS & MEDALS

Distribute refreshments and medals to participants after they cross the finish line.

I’LL GO ANYWHERE!

Looking for volunteers to work different stations at the expo such as the Gratitude Tent, Vendor Check In and to fill in where needed on race morning.

CLEAN UP

Assist with striking the expo and start/finish line and loading race materials onto the truck.
